Flake Ice
Machines
Thin flakes for direct-contact cooling.
For seafood handling, meat processing, fresh-food displays and concrete cooling. Plan your ice supply around the way you use it.

01 · Product overview
Thin ice.
Broad surface contact.
Flake ice forms as a thin layer on the evaporator surface, then a scraper releases it as loose, irregular flakes.
It can be distributed around fresh products, formed into display beds or metered into a cooling process.
02 · Applications
Where flake ice goes to work.
From fresh-product handling to temperature control during processing.
Fisheries & Seafood
Keep ice close to the catch.
Distribute flakes around fish during sorting, packing and chilled handling. The loose flakes fit around the catch and inside fish boxes.
- Fish landing & sorting
- Box icing & seafood processing
Plan ice supply around the catch volume, handling schedule and time before delivery.
Meat & Poultry
Control heat during processing.
Use flake ice for poultry chilling, keeping cut products cold, or as a measured ingredient in processed-meat mixtures.
- Poultry chilling & case icing
- Meat mixing & preparation
Define the cooling step, recipe water allowance and cleaning requirements.
Fresh-food Display
An ice bed for fresh displays.
Shape flakes into an ice bed around seafood at supermarkets and fresh-food counters, then replenish it through the trading day.
- Seafood counters
- Supermarkets & fresh markets
Allow for display size, opening hours, replenishment and meltwater drainage.
Concrete Cooling
Cool the mix at batching.
Add a measured amount of flake ice as part of the mixing water to reduce concrete temperature, including for mass-concrete pours.
- Concrete batching plants
- Dams & mass-concrete projects
Coordinate ice storage, conveying and weighing with the batching system and mix design.

04 · Equipment configuration
Configure your
flake ice system.
Daily demand, peak use and operating hours determine the starting capacity. Water and ambient temperatures determine the output to confirm for your site.

01Refrigeration & heat rejectionCondenser · electrical supply · site conditions
- Match the refrigeration and condenser arrangement to ambient temperature, cooling-water availability and ventilation.
- Confirm voltage, frequency, refrigerant requirements and the equipment supply scope in the proposal.
02Water & ice-contact requirementsWater source · materials · cleaning access
- Review the water source, inlet temperature, water treatment and drainage before selecting the machine.
- For direct food contact, agree the water quality, ice-contact materials and cleaning requirements for the application.
03Ice storage & handlingIce bin · discharge height · conveying
- Size storage around peak use and the time between ice production and consumption.
- Define discharge height and delivery to the point of use. Concrete systems also need coordinated weighing and batching interfaces.
